Press-locked gratings are among the most widely used grating types throughout Europe. Their manufacturing process offers exceptional design flexibility compared with press-welded gratings, allowing for a wide range of mesh configurations and bearing bar dimensions. As a result, they can be adapted to virtually any application and aesthetic requirement.
Thanks to the wide range of available materials and design options, press-locked gratings can be tailored precisely to the requirements of each application.
MEISER gutter gratings are manufactured in steel, stainless steel or aluminium to suit the intended application, environmental conditions and load requirements. They are available in sizes up to 300 × 1,500 mm and can be designed for applications ranging from pedestrian (...)
MEISER heavy-duty gratings are specifically engineered for applications involving exceptionally high loads. They are manufactured as press-locked gratings with extra-high and/or extra-wide bearing bars, complemented by correspondingly dimensioned cross bars.
Full gratings are characterised by bearing bars and cross bars with identical cross-sections, resulting in a uniform grid with equal bar heights. The bearing bars span the support structure and remain unslotted on the underside.
Where reduced visibility or controlled screening is required, louvre gratings provide an effective solution. Their applications extend far beyond walkways, bridges and transition areas.
This special design of the louvre grating combines the technical properties of a conventional press-locked grating and full grating with the attractive design of a louvre grating.
MEISER press-welded gratings have long been the preferred choice for a wide range of industrial applications. Every intersection between the bearing bars and cross bars is resistance-welded under high pressure, creating an exceptionally strong, durable and dimensionally stable structure. Twisted square bars are typically used as cross bars and are welded directly to the full-depth bearing bars, ensuring maximum structural integrity and long-term performance under demanding operating conditions.
Press-welded gratings are widely used in the oil and gas industry, mining, power generation and other heavy-duty industrial environments. They are particularly suitable for applications exposed to high shear forces or where platform coverings require frequent replacement.
Where press-welded gratings are required while simultaneously preventing smaller objects from falling through, MEISER offers press-welded gratings with integrated perforated steel strips.
MEISER offshore gratings have been specifically developed for use on offshore drilling platforms and other demanding marine applications.
While standard press-welded gratings are manufactured with twisted square cross bars to provide enhanced slip resistance, smooth round bars can be used where architectural appearance takes priority.
MEISER shelf gratings provide significant advantages over conventional shelving systems used in warehouses and logistics facilities. In addition to their exceptional durability, they offer excellent light and water permeability, making them particularly suitable for warehouses equipped with sprinkler systems. Their open-grid design also allows stored goods to remain visible from below, improving operational efficiency. Thoughtfully engineered details simplify installation while providing additional integrated functional benefits, making MEISER shelf gratings a reliable and efficient solution for modern storage and logistics applications.
This is the standard shelf grating design, offering a cost-effective solution suitable for shelving systems with identical depths but different crossbeam configurations.
This version features raised bottom edging only at the ends of the bearing bars. The less pronounced locking mechanism provides greater flexibility, allowing the grating to be used with a wider range of crossbeam widths.
Push-through protection is an essential safety feature in modern shelving systems. When installed separately, however, it can significantly increase installation time and costs.
MEISER has developed a dedicated shelf grating for double shelving systems. Additional notches create a continuous connection across adjoining shelving units while ensuring fast and straightforward installation.
This is the most widely used version of the inserted shelf grating. It features MEISER's proprietary rolled Z-profile, which is inserted into the bearing bars and additionally welded to create a robust supporting edge.
This version combines the proven Z-profile design with integrated push-through protection. An additional flange on the profile prevents stored goods from sliding through the rear of the shelving system, providing enhanced operational safety.
This design consists of two grating panels connected by a U-profile at the central support. The result is a continuous shelf surface across double shelving units while maintaining the full storage height.
Strong. Lightweight. Reliable. Conventional shelf gratings are typically manufactured with bearing bars of uniform height. In practice, however, many storage systems use standardised load carriers that only apply loads to specific bearing bars.
This grating has been specifically developed to meet statutory fire protection requirements. A 0.8 mm Sendzimir-galvanised steel sheet is mounted on the U-profiles or, in the grating version, on the Z-profiles, where it functions as an integrated thermal insulation panel.
MEISER has developed and manufactured more than 5,000 grating variants, many of them designed specifically to meet the individual requirements of customers, architects and engineering consultants. Whether functionality, aesthetics or budget defines the project, specialised solutions such as comb gratings, slatted gratings and louvre gratings demand extensive technical expertise and decades of manufacturing experience. You provide the challenge—we deliver the solution.
MEISER finned grating stands out considerably compared to a classical grating. The function of the cross bar is taken over in this version by a pipe that is inserted centrally in the bearing bars. This provides the finned grating with a very high-quality appearance, (...)
MEISER comb gratings are a specialised form of press-locked grating featuring cross bars that project above the bearing bars. This creates a refined, comb-like appearance in which the bearing bars become almost invisible, resulting in a light and elegant architectural (...)
The MEISER Top Plate combines the advantages of a chequered plate with the structural strength of a grating.
Our range of specialty gratings also includes MEISER boat dock gratings. Instead of the cross bars typically used, these gratings feature cross bars with a flat, pressed-in U-profile.
Press-locked grating steps, press-welded grating steps and step systems with raised safety nosings.
Press-locked grating steps are available in steel, stainless steel and aluminium and are manufactured using the same proven process as MEISER press-locked gratings.
Press-welded grating steps are manufactured in steel or stainless steel using the same production process as MEISER press-welded gratings.
These grating steps feature a durable GRP leading edge that enhances step visibility while providing secure footing. They are ideally suited for industrial, commercial and technical access systems.
