Hot-Dip Galvanizing – Fully Integrated Within Our Value Chain
Almost every MEISER steel product benefits from long-lasting corrosion protection provided entirely within our own production network. We have operated our own hot-dip galvanizing facilities in Schmelz-Limbach since 1969. A second state-of-the-art galvanizing plant was commissioned there in 2011, followed by another modern facility in Oelsnitz in 2020. In 2025, MEISER further expanded its galvanizing expertise with a new plant in Saarlouis.
Whether in Limbach, Oelsnitz or Saarlouis, hot-dip galvanizing represents the final and most important stage of production.
It provides reliable, maintenance-free corrosion protection for decades and completes the manufacturing process for the majority of our products. Galvanized MEISER steel components are used wherever long-term corrosion protection is essential—from gratings and profile planking to solar mounting systems, vehicle restraint systems, vineyard posts and many other steel structures. The hot-dip galvanizing process forms the basis for their exceptional durability.
Reliable Corrosion Protection in Accordance with DIN EN ISO 1461. During batch hot-dip galvanizing, each finished steel component is immersed in molten zinc at approximately 450 °C.

The zinc metallurgically bonds with the steel surface to form a highly durable protective coating.Unlike many other corrosion protection methods, the entire finished component is protected – including cut edges, punched holes and complex fabricated details. The result is a continuous, highly resilient zinc layer that provides outstanding long-term protection, even under demanding operating conditions.
Typical coating thicknesses range between 60 and 80 μm, with minimum values generally between 45 and 55 μm, depending on the component design. This makes galvanizing particularly suitable for products permanently exposed to weather, moisture, mechanical stress or aggressive industrial environments.
With a service life that often exceeds 30 years, hot-dip galvanizing significantly reduces maintenance requirements while providing excellent long-term cost efficiency.
Prior to galvanizing, every component undergoes thorough surface preparation. Oil, grease, rust, mill scale and other contaminants are completely removed to ensure optimum adhesion of the zinc coating.
