MEISER supplied expanded metal for the large-scale façade cladding of the Pfaffenau waste incineration plant in Vienna.
Hot-dip galvanized expanded metal with a mesh size of 212 x 88 x 24 x 3 mm and coated in RAL 2011 was used. The design combines functional weather protection with a striking architectural effect and characterizes the appearance of the facility in the urban environment.
The Pfaffenau waste incineration plant is part of the Simmering Environmental Center and was commissioned in 2008 as Vienna's third grate-fired plant. In addition to the high functional requirements for a modern energy and waste recycling plant, the façade design also played a central role, as the building envelope was to be designed as a technically effective and at the same time architecturally visible level.
MEISER expanded metal with a 212 x 88 x 24 x 3 mm mesh, hot-dip galvanized and coated in RAL 2011, was used as large-scale façade cladding. The construction acts as a robust outer shell and helps to protect the facility from the weather, while the open structure gives the building a clear sense of depth and technical precision. The eye-catching color scheme and the extensive application create a façade solution that visibly combines industrial function and architectural design.
